Spend New Year in Newcastle

Date posted: November 7, 2017

The days are counting down to the end of 2017 and there are lots of wonderful events on in Newcastle to celebrate it. This year, the City Council and NewcastleGateshead initiative are in collaboration with Walk the Plank, an outdoor arts company, to present an exciting bonfire night including a firework display.

East of the Sun, and West of the Moon will be taking inspiration from Norse Mythology and folklore. The form of centrepiece of the evening’s theatrics is a bonfire, which resembles a beast’s lair and will be lit before the culminating firework display.

This family oriented early evening celebration will also include a range of food and drink, fun fair entertainment and concessions to keep every type of person entertained prior to the main events. The event will be open from 4pm for everyone to gather and enjoy the entertainment from Heart radio. The main events will start at 5pm and will include lighting the bonfire. The fireworks display beginning at 6pm.

Although East of the Sun, West of the Moon is a free event, it will still be ticketed. These tickets will be allocated using a ballot system, so apply to enter the draw! Everyone who applies will hear of the results in the first week of December 2017.
